Some wind noise, but not as bad as you might think.

I think I need that for cleaning the roof glass. I'm not a small guy but even I have to tippy toe and I still can't get the very center of the roof clean. Does this thing work? Does it damage the car/door?

I wouldn't use it personally. We don't have our Y yet but I use a small step ladder that I keep in the garage to get the roof on vehicles that sit up pretty tall. I usually just have to use it on one side.

Just to add some metrics to this post. I put on a similar size Thule box and recently made the trip from New Jersey to Central Virginia. Even with the wheel covers off, I still averaged around 330 wh/mi doing 70-75 (flow of traffic on 95). Temps were in the mid 50s-60s each way. While not awesome, it was a lot better than I expected. I was thinking it was gonna be closer to 350-360.

384 wh/mi with a mix of highway and rural. Def over 400 on the highway at 75-80mph, didn’t see 450 but probably close. It was cold too. Worth it for the cargo tho!

I have a pair of these that I used with a previous SUV, for putting bikes up on the roof. Between my weight and a 30-lb bike, they left small indentations below the latches--noticeable but only if you know to look for them, and no effect on door function. With Tesla's reputation for easily dented metal and questionable build quality, I do not plan to use the steps with the MY.

BTW, a glass cleaner wand with a telescoping handle works great for cleaning the roof and the windshield.
