New to the group, would like if anyone could share their order experiences and ask if anyone has received their MY or have received any type of updates past “their drawing up a contract for the vehicle”.

Aloha!

TL;DR Version: Tesla is pre-producing common build configurations and shipping them direct to service centers. The computer then matches inbound vehicles to pending orders based on who is furthest along in the process. You may actually be able to get a Y relatively quickly after placing your order.

I ordered my long range, all wheel drive (LR AWD) Y on February 2nd and took delivery on June 16th. When I placed the order I indicated I wanted to trade in my Model 3. I started receiving communications from Tesla via text message and email in mid-May advising me to start getting my order information completed online and on May 20th, I received and confirmed my trade in value for the Model 3. Further emails and texts around that time indicated that orders are prioritized for customers that have all their information completed and are ready to take delivery.

About a week prior to delivery, I got another text message asking me to confirm if I wanted to take delivery in June or defer. I said June. On June 13th (Saturday), I got an email asking (again) to confirm trade in value and I noticed I had a delivery appointment online for Sunday (the next day!) at 5pm. I was called later that morning by the local delivery specialist, and we settled on Tuesday afternoon for delivery.

Wow! Thanks for that detailed response seems to be the trend with all deliveries being handled within the week of confirmation. Pretty much pops us outta nowhere like ‍♂️ Come pick me up.
