If anyone has been able go reach their delivery advisor and had the price decrease put on their order, can you please let us know? We are getting conflicting feedback. Thanks////
I have MY delivery set for 7/24. I just called dealer and they said they (with no hesitation or argument) will put in for it to be updated and it will be reflected on my "amount due" portion of my profile within 48 hours. Makes sense - no way they should cancel my order and give my car to someone else and make me wait longer. SO far, happy with this part. Still very nervous for issues upon pick-up, but that's another story

Ah, no way to edit a comment? Looks like I posted lil too early!

My reservation is actually for a "Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive" which was an option back in 2019 but is not available for quite some time now. I'm guessing no discount for me and no option except either to keep the existing order or cancel and place new LRAWD.:(

My question too!
Still waiting to hear what's happening to LR RWD orders.
I feel like this how theyre going to get rid of them. I can get AWD for $1000 more if I edit order (I think that's right).

I chatted in yesterday on the delivery day page: Tesla.com/deliveryday

They were able to change it so my final price was updated and I’ll be getting a refund check from Tesla since I already financed the old price. Picking up in a week and a half.

Also I noticed if the chat window doesn’t appear, you can try opening the page and incognito mode and it tends to work. YMMV.

Well, I had those fears too. So I reached out to them and they confirmed that they will fulfill those orders since they were placed "before" the options were pulled up from the site. Here are my chat screenshots.

This is how I did it since I couldn't edit my order, I started a chat session yesterday afternoon (Sat about 4 pm) with Tesla about getting the $3K discount on my ordered MY (ordered on June 29th and no VIN - yet) and I just received this e-mail.

Good Afternoon Thomas,

I wanted to follow up and let you know that the request has been submitted for the price to be adjusted to the latest pricing for your Model Y order. Please allow 24 hours for these changes to reflect on your Tesla account.

Best

Now all I need is a VIN.

Thanks Tom and Howlz for sharing your experience.

Tom, since you booked in June, I'm sure yours wasn't RWD. Howlz, could you please confirm your model details too.

Toyota dealers were asking 100k for the first couple of Supras. I have yet to see a Supra on the streets, and I now see them sitting in dealer showrooms with the no "market adjustment" price on the window.

Toyota actually sold nearly 3,000 Supras in the U.S. last year (starting in July) but I agree, pricing does and should adjust with the market.

Also, it's not only dealers that may sometimes try to sell "hot" cars for above MSRP but private owners (selling what are now used cars) do too.

The reality is that MSRP is not necessarily gospel or reflective of the actual market at a given time which is why you see price adjustments. In a sense, Tesla was selling the newly released MY at $3k over until they had to adjust the price recently.

Yeah, with no manufacture rebates, hidden holdbacks, or dealer discounts, these kinds of price changes with Tesla are to be expected.

Actually, there can be additional discounts, rebates, etc. of sorts with Tesla. A difference is that Tesla is not only the manufacturer but also the "dealer." Tesla has routinely offered special incentives on new inventory cars including "hidden" (not posted online) inventory cars, and not just demos with hundreds or thousands of miles. Not all new Teslas are sold at full MSRP (whatever that number may be at the time) and not all similar inventory cars are discounted equivalently. Some of these incentives can also be especially good at month or quarter end periods.

Until now all AWD were software limited Performance models and the motors were the same. It is possible that from now on AWD will come with regular motors and perhaps this allows Tesla to reduce the price.

Doesn’t really help us end users though. Not like we can unlock performance on those cars that are sw locked. And I mean this in regards to the justification for paying $3k more.

thanks for this info. I chatted with them on same page today. Took all of 5 minutes for price reduction and to confirm arrival to service center for delivery in 11 days

My Y (ordered 6/30, for delivery 7/19 in NY) will be reduced $2000....you get the $3000 discount if you ask for it, but they charge the new ($8000) FDS option if you order that, so it nets $2000. If you didnt order the FSD, you'd get the full $3000. Better than zero.
