Model Y roof racks - AliExpress and others

Hi, new here,
Thinking about getting them, wondering how the roof racks affect the range if installed 'permanently' (ie not carrying anything)?

When you are installing yours, did you have the issue where the rear J hooks were not long enough? mine was so short that I couldn't even get the nuts screwed all the way in without really forcing it.

The front ones are ok, but the back ones are to my opinion to short. Asked the vendor and they said it is ok.

Mine whistles and drives me crazy. I wouldn't install them permanently. I take mine off when I'm not on a ski trip, it takes less than 5 minutes once you get to know how it works.

I am still waiting for our MYLR but I have Thule racks on our Ford CMAX. I have hauled a lot of heavy wood and other stuff.

What's the heaviest load you guys have used them with?

I saw such a bar on the Amazon link, and in their link, there is a video of wind noise. Personally, I think this wind noise is acceptable.

There is another thread about this, but if you have non-tesla bars that whistle, add these in addition by adhering them either just in front of or just behind the included rubber strip and it takes the whistle away! Works great for me!

Anyone have experience with these roof racks for Model Y?

They’re considerably cheaper than Tesla’s and look identical. The have the same J hook mount.

I have the Tesla branded racks on my S but these look good to me. Of course I know there’s always risk with knock offs but I’m wondering if anyone has tried these? The first links are for a Canadian company and the second one is from AliExpress- I’m willing to bet these are the same thing, marked up in Canada (still cheaper than Tesla’s)
