Another way to find bulletins: NHTSA: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment -or- NHTSA: 2020 TESLA MODEL Y SUV AWD The complaints are interesting... there is one nasty incident that may or may not have been caused by a "pygmy hippopotamus".
It's great to see these but people, please don't panic. EVERY car has TSBs on them. Its extremely common. Not only will there be TSBs but you'll have open recalls. This is not an indicator of quality. Its a reality of manufacturing. Tesla incorporates fixes for these into production as they go. Look at how many new cars are being built where the charge port sits flush for example. If your concerned, schedule an appointment in the app and ask them to see if any of the current TSBs apply to your VIN. They do this check anyways when a car is in for service but you can specifically ask them to do a check if it will help you sleep better.
Super appreciate you posting these SBs and info about how to subscribe!! Very useful information. Can you tell us how to find out if our VIN is involved, for instance on the Replace Rear Drive Unit?
One service bulletin references cars built before a certain date (May 26, 2020 I think). How can I tell the date of manufacture for my MY? Thanks.
Model Y being built in the tent. Line is not interlocked to ensure critical joints are secured correctly. My team and I were a part of the 2019 purge. Guess what our job was?
My Certificate of Origin has a date of 6/15/2020 with VIN 13xxx. I expect it's posted on the car as well but I don't have access to it at the moment.
It is part of the original paperwork sent to you from Tesla. For us, it was in a FedEx envelope that we received about 2-3 weeks after delivery.
Never got one. The only Fedex we received from Tesla was the title after it came back from the State. Any other way to find the date of manufacture?
Untorqued caliper bolts IS a very serious safety issue especially when an untorqued bolt backs all the way out. The loose calipher can shift and rub against internal section of the rim causing it to crack/deteriorate while driving.
Just wondering if it is listed on your title anywhere? I opened the FedEx envelope and found the certificate of origin in there, so the state probably has that if the envelope was mailed to them directly. Just a guess on my part. Hope you can find it!
