Model Y Sound insulation

I heard that the Model Y manufactured prior to May 2020 does not have sound insulation over the heat pump/ac. Is it true? If yes, can the earlier models be retrofitted with the insulation?

It’s true, and yes it can be retrofitted (for free I believe).

That is correct. Not sure about the "May" manufacturing date, but my car was manufactured in June and didn't come with one. It's currently at the SC for other stuff, but one of the items is to retrofit it with the blanket (for free - according to the estimated work estimate).

Open the frunk, pull off the access panel and take a look.

I didn't have the courage to pull off the access panel, so I just took a video of it (it was pretty freakin loud). Showed the service advisor the video and he added that to the the list of work needed. I figure if it's already there, then fine. But if not, then they'll add one. No harm no foul in telling them.
