Yeah I am over 25. Just wanted to understand as to what a sensible insurance would qualify as. Like I said, this is my first car in this category and I have no idea as to what to expect. I paid low on the car I have got but its understandably so as its not nearly as expensive as Tesla. May be I had wrong expectations reading some people getting low quotes on here. People who obviously are much more experienced drivers than me.Just seen from your history that you're a new driver with 2 years experience - don't want to be a negative nelly but I'd be surprised if anyone would insure you for a sensible sum of money. I assume you are at least over 25, which will help. If you have anyone who's been driving longer you could try getting them to insure it with you as a named driver, but that usually requires that they are the main driver of the vehicle.
I'm 30, 12 years experience and I'm getting quotes between £450-600 ish. My current car is a BMW 330i, so similar-ish performance (a bit slower) and I pay £390. Most people seem to be getting slightly higher than that, between 600-1000. I live in a fairly quiet area which helps. In London I would expect this to be higher again. It does seem that it's really variable though, so it's a guessing game.Yeah I am over 25. Just wanted to understand as to what a sensible insurance would qualify as. Apparently they are planning on shipping direct to UK by March.Thoughts on myUS for the Rimetrix covers vs taking them back myself?
I'm in the US at the end of March, and could pay $90 for an 'Extra Bag' to them back with me '90x75x43cm' max size.
However this + the sales tax for the state of Washington seems to make the costs very similar, assuming the average import cost is £350?
And then, I might get questioned walking out of Heathrow with my cardboard box of Wheel-Trims?
I read a story here about a young driver who was quoted £14k for a Model 3 insuranceYeah I am over 25. Just wanted to understand as to what a sensible insurance would qualify as. Might be an issue if you have only limited driving experience. You might have more luck with specialist insurers like Adrian Flux or A Plan. I had to go down that route as I wrote off a car 4 weeks after passing my test (not my fault) but as a new driver I didn't know how to gather evidence etc and the old woman who hit me knew how to play the system! She had just left hospital with a bad leg, couldn't apply her brakes and shouldn't have been driving! After that I was blackballed from driving anything remotely decent or had to pay stupid money. Used Flux for that and then A Plan for my R8 as I had rotton luck with 4 idiots in 3 years slamming into me. All that talk of 'wont effect your claims' is nonsense - they see a claim as claim regardless of fault and price accordinglyWell NOVO just declined to give me a quote saying my driving experience was not adequate to drive vehicles with a similar performance to a Tesla Model Y a vehicle that does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. My risk profile falls outside their accepted appetite.
Oh well..

I am an A-Plan customer and very pleased with their service, but as of last week the MY was not on their list, hopefully this is solved at the end of the month.Might be an issue if you have only limited driving experience. I'll be right behind you, picking up from Glasgow at 11. I have a final invoice pdf with both numbers on, but have also had 2 texts this week with the reg number mentioned.I'm collecting on 2nd march 10am, I have a VIN + reg number, but neither appears in any of my documents in the Tesla account section (e.g. the invoice VIN box is empty), should these update at some point?
I guess I probably don't get a "final invoice" as im leasing via Tesla PCP.
