On long trips carry a full size spare. Also make sure your fitted tyres are as close to new as possible if you're planning on being a fair distance and a few days wait for a replacement tyre.

Seem simpler to find a compatible 18" spare localy
The video mention Ford Mustang, but there are threads taking about compatibility spares, such as Hyundai Genesis...
Organise with three others to buy a set and take one each.

The modern spare kit is a neater more elegant solution. I have a BMW X5 space saver and a Mazda bravo scissor jack and a wheel brace like the one in the kit. Bought them all 4 years ago long before kits were available. Cost at the time was perhaps $400 for the lot?
