I bought this one from ebay, I like it but I don’t know about the range impact on these things.

Looks good, but like you, that "cupped" wrap around design seems like it would cause a measurable range loss - especially at highway speeds. It would be great to see some real world reviews on this, after they are out there in the wild a while. Can you post an "inside view"?

I’m worried about the cupped design too.. but I figured that the wind is being blocked as the mudguards are installed behind the tires? It’s not like the mg are sticking out like the side mirrors and scooping? I don’t know.

WOW, those look very nice, like a stock factory accessory. I installed similar ones on my past 2 Volts, and did not realize an efficiency penalty. They were matched to the tire profile as well (did not protrude out beyond sidewall). I was waiting on photos, and am now going to order a set.

I also installed them on my Volts with 3m double adhesive body molding tape on the contact edges, where they met the paint, for added adhesion/fitment and paint protection (clean surface with alcohol first).

Are any of these stocked domestically?

I say this without looking at wind tunnel data or anything, but my gut feeling is that there should be a pretty significant turbulent low-pressure area directly behind the wheels at any speed where aerodynamics become a noteworthy concern (e.g, when the aero covers become relevant), so it's not like these would be a huge impediment to laminar flow.

In case anyone misunderstands the situation, the mudflaps are selling for $40 on amazon, but you can get them off ebay for $18-23 for the same set. Just depends if you want to wait 2-4 weeks for it or get it in 2 days.
