Morgan Stanley predicts: Teslas on the Roads in 2018: 531,000

"The analysts, led by Adam Jonas, predicted Tesla’s TSLA, +1.27% global on-road population to reach nearly 300,000 vehicles by the end of this year, and 531,000 vehicles by the end of 2018."

That would mean MS assumes only 231,000 will be delivered in 2018 which includes S,X & 3. With a runrate of only 100k for S and X (conservative no increase to 2017) that leaves 131,000 for M3 in 2018 or 1/3 of the plan.

Pretty pessimistic Analyst....

Tesla is, traditionally, not so great at delivering on expectations on this front. Analysts have no real credibility or accountability but it still pays to be a bit conservative.

weeeell considering Tesla`s success rate so far concerning production plans I can understand them

Well, with no real info on how they're doing on the 3 production line, and with the employee cars having software that's definitely unfinished, all you can do is look at past performance... and yeah, I think being conservative is not an unreasonable way to go.

May be there is a silver lining, more people will be able to get the federal rebate , depending on how the ramp up is.
