For those that were wondering if the 0-60 time was actually better than 5.1 seconds, looks like that may be true. Motor Trend clocked the long-range version at 4.8.

Seeing the picture of the backseats I can't imagine how long you have to be to have problems with your legs. 4.8 is amazing! Another example of anti selling.

Maybe I'm weird, but the smoothness is one of the things I hate about luxury cars. I want to feel the road. Maybe when I'm 70 I'll look for something cushy.

Motor Trend had a very cold way of describing the Model 3. They have had to see EV's before but the article sounded like they have their collective heads embedded in ICE vehicles. I don't think the 3 is going to win the award this year...but they could surprise me.

All ICE, all the time. So the 3 is the EV in the mix, much like the Rio is the oddball, cheap hatchback in the mix and the Panamera is the luxury option. Feels like they have one car to represent each market segment, which makes sense.

Interestingly, the Honda Civic Type R (which is the car I plan to get if I don't end-up buying the Model 3) was clocked at 5.8 seconds, which is slower than its official time. That seems like a good sign for the 3.

Motor Trend works a year ahead of time. Since the model year being put out by most OEMs now are for 2018, that is the current competition.

MT article is first mention of measured turning radius for TM3 at 38.1 feet. This compares to the following:

• MS = 37.0
• Honda Accord Sedan = 38.1
• Audi A4 = 38.1
• MBZ E class = 38.1
• BWW 3 series = 38.4

So, in my opinion, the TM3 turning radius is a bit larger than the MS but definitely in the middle of the pack when compared with comparable vehicles, nothing unusual.

The new Smart Electric Drive was part of their evaluations before picking a set of finalists.
I found that a bit odd, the Smart is such a niche car, but MT did like some elements of it, but for obvious reasons it didn't make the list.
Neither did the new Leaf by the way.

I say the Honda Accord wins... through Motor Trend's lens, the Model 3 doesn't seem all too impressive when compared against the other cars. If I wasn't a Tesla enthusiast, I wouldn't be objectively impressed with the car based on the write-up, and I'm legitimately surprised to see them knock the size of the backseat area since this has been touted as a significant benefit in other early reviews.

Then again, how in the heck did the Bolt win last year's award!? Vote$ mu$t be for hire, and we all know Elon isn't paying...
