I thought I would post this even though I know there have been other posts about fitting bikes in the back. This is my Moots 29" YBB with the front wheel off. Fit easily and quickly. No seat post removal or lowering. Even in my Subaru Outback I take the front wheel off (this bike has a thru axle but my others have QRs).

Plenty of room for shoes, pump, supplies, etc.

This was an important consideration for me but in my haste, I took a road bike to the Tesla Store when they received their demo and I didn't take a trail bike which is what I do more of anyway these days.

Glad to see it fits! I haven't even felt the urge to try fitting my 29er.
What's your plan for sitting on those pretty white seats after a long ride?

Probably put a towel down. I've been looking at seat covers but haven't made much progress. From what I understand they clean off well. She shall see!

I’m ordering one of these: Leader Accessories Grey Waterproof Sweat Towel Front Bucket Seat Cover for Car Trucks SUV Anti-Slip Backing Machine Washable Fitness Gym Extreme Crossfit Triathlon Beach Surfing Outdoor Water Sports https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KNWU37O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-pbIBbZZB1YQ7
I’m more worried about scratching up my bumper getting the XL 29er in...
I need a better hitch option.

Cool. I have no issues putting my road bike in the back either. Haven't tried my Mtn Bike yet (Santa Cruz, 27.5's). Based on your bike, appears I'll have no issues either.
