SpaceX Launched Humans, So Let’s Have A Sale!

Spacex-Human-Launch-MPP-Sale-980x552.jpg

I can’t tell you how impressed and amazed we are here at the accomplishments SpaceX continues to pump out – one after another. It is the ultimate motivation for us to look at ourselves in the mirror and say we aren’t doing enough – and it inspires us to push harder every day.

The fact that SpaceX competes against massive companies with seemingly unlimited budgets, and they just keep achieving the impossible over and over again is our definition of achievement and success.

We have a far less significant accomplishment, but one we are still quite proud of – this week we tested our 750 horsepower hybrid-powered racecar on the track for the first time, and the car performed flawlessly on its first outing with the new hybrid system and paddle-shift gearbox. This car is now a development platform for high power hybrid experimentation, and as far as we know, the only privately built hybrid racecar.

Like when the Raptors won the championship, we like to have sales to celebrate accomplishments. So to celebrate SpaceX launching American astronauts safely to the International Space Station, and our successful test with KERS Kels, we are having a sale on all MPP products! Save 5% on MPP coilovers and brakes and 10% on all other products!

The sale will start Friday at 7:00 AM EDT through the of the weekend, ending at 11:59PM on Sunday June 7th. If you miss it – you miss it!

Included in this sale, we’re announcing our new MPP Brake Master Cylinder Brace, which has been in development for some time. The master cylinder brace is finished and will be shipping next week! Like many of our parts, this brace is cut from billet 6061 aluminum and is designed for maximum stiffness, minimum weight, and easy install.

The brace makes an incredible difference to brake pedal feel – you need to feel it to know the difference. The Model 3 firewall is quite flexible, and the master cylinder moves considerably when the brakes are pressed resulting in less than ideal brake pedal feel. This problem is more pronounced if you already have aftermarket brake lines and calipers.

To make sure we weren’t tricking ourselves with a placebo effect, we have done a number of double-blind tests and the difference is REALLY noticeable. We had a 100% success rate at being able to detect the brace is installed, there was no doubt! As with our stainless braided brake lines, this product adds to the driver’s connection to the braking system and gives a more direct and linear response to your inputs.

In other exciting news, we’ll be releasing our big brake kit and GT wing in the coming weeks, with the release of our motorsport oriented product line – MPP.R

If you’re interested in learning more about our hybrid Nissan 350z GT car, have a look at this page that explains the hybrid system, with a number of videos.

No, not at all. If there is any downside to the brace, it is just that it has mass. It's hard to make something lighter when there was nothing there in the first place :)

The sale has been wild, I guess you guys really have been waiting for us to have a sale! Thank you so much for the continued support. It means the world to us.

Have a great weekend - time for MPP Assetto Corsa!

Wow what the hell - I knew there was play involved but was not expecting that much. I remember hearing about one of these for Miatas long ago, but never really for any other car... it's an often overlooked aspect of brake pedal feel, and the Miatards said it made a way bigger difference than BBKs, pads, SS lines, etc. It's not insignificant...

Great video.

The MPP brace will keep it from moving forward but there’s clearly some upward rotation as well. It’d be helpful to see a before and after video with the brace. A side view, maybe with a mirror, would also be good to see.

It looks like rotation pivoting somewhere middle vertical of the master cylinder, rather than separate vertical and horizontal. Looking at the install instructions the bracket holds attaches to the bottom I assume that the function is via keeping the bottom from coming forward and thus stopping the rotation should also stop the vertical portion.

EDIT: Also, the brace is bolted at two points on the front portion, so that'll also help resist vertical movement as the rear point of the brace shouldn't be going anywhere up and down. EDIT2: Correction, brace bolted at three points at the front. You remove and replace two existing bolts but the assembly also appears to be using a hole Tesla put in that isn't being used at this time?

How's the install process?
