Depends on the state. Here in MS there’s no sales tax on private party used vehicles. If one buys from a new or used dealership then it’s viewed as a retail transaction and sales tax is charged whether new or usedUsed cars don’t pay sales tax?
Sales Tax/reg is a sunk cost in any vehicle resale.
