Moving a Model 3 with no one inside

I’m getting a garage to put on my winter wheels. It’s a one man garage. The mechanic usually puts a car into neutral to push the car on the lift to then raise it. If you leave a model 3 it will automatically go into park when you get out. How can the mechanic keep my model 3 in Neutral to push it onto the ramp. Would Tow Mode be the answer ? Last time I sat in the car whilst the wheels were changed, don’t have time for that this week. He should be able to drive the car on the ramp, get out, raise the car, change the wheels (in park), then lower and drive off right ?

Yes use tow mode. Make sure whoever does it keeps their foot on the brake long enough to hear the EPB motor disengage (whirring sound from the back axle).

OK great thanks. Sometimes this technology is just too clever for its own good.

Or maybe you are just over thinking things! Mine’s had wheels swapped at a garage a couple of times... mechanic drive onto ramp then used my jack pads with his jack and did the job. Only issue is to make sure he understands how to open the door...!

Often the thing about pushing a car onto a lift is because it's difficult to open the door to get out without hitting the door on the post. So he may have a good reason to do it that way. ;)

I see you can get that for 3.5k now as a partial self driving option. Still too much for me for a clever trick to impress friends.
