Tesla service have said that the intermittent failure of the parking sensors is due to the latest firmware. The sensors wont activate when the car wakes from sleep.

So shouldn't be relied upon when reversing off the drive? Not that I do, but nice to have as a confirmation that you are not going to hit something in the dark.

Odd. My sensors work coming out of my garage and getting too close to my hedge.
when I park in the supermarket, the car park is mostly empty so park assist cant be ar*ed anyway.

Wait for a future firmware release (which will probably bugger something else up)

Which version? This latest problem is caused by .4.11

2021.4.12 installed yesterday hasn’t solved the issue. 2014.4.11 seems to have caused it

This it was fixed at the service center today. Apparently it was a loose connector in the rear bumper. All is fine now.

I've also had this fixed at the SC today (Leeds) under warranty. The invoice says repair wiring harness. It is a bit strange though that so many people are experiencing this after a software update. Anyway I'm happy

So I updated to the latest version 2021.4.12.2 and the problem returned. next appointment on April 28th :-(

Not really, however a full brake pedal reboot is sometimes necessary after an update, especially if you had a USB device attached during the installation for whatever reason.

I did that and actually formatted the USB drive and it seems to work fine now

I can confirm this worked for me as well after getting the 2021.4.15 patch. I have Tesla coming out to install my Garage door opener on the 22nd and they mentioned doing the hard reset to resolve it but that it may come back though until a new firmware is released though.

Yeah, I had a mobile Ranger working on mine. I had done a complete shutdown three days earlier. The parking sensors worked until the firmware upgraded the night before the visit. The sensors went on the blink again.
The car was shutdown as part of the visit. The sensors have worked fine since then (one week to date).
