The music that is being played in the car can be controlled by your phone rather than on the screen in the car.

Just checked, controls popped up as soon as I got in the car; didn’t even push the brake pedal.

For me, music is exclusively from Apple Music. I’ve noticed that there is a difference between unlocking the car and music media with regards to Bluetooth; even when the car unlocks, there are times I’ll have to manually select my phone in the Bluetooth menu to play music. Try making sure your phone is connected in the Bluetooth menu.

And I guess you're on the latest version of the app and car firmware?

As others have said. Mine pops up the second the car starts playing music. I just tested it with the Tesla music streaming app.

My car is on firmware version 2022.40.4

Finally got it — took me a long time! It turned out to to be in the settings that was in the audio section. I took a screenshot for you.
