The upcoming Tesla pickup would have a starting price of $49,000 or less, Chief Executive Elon Musk said in a podcast interview. Speaking on the “Ride the Lighting” podcast, Musk said the company hopes to offer the vehicle at “well under” $50,000. “You should be able to buy a really great truck for $49k or...

Please don't overpromise and underdeliver. No potential pickup buyers read this and think "Model 3 El Camino"; they imagine a real pickup.

As always when EM talks about specs, it may be under 50k, but there will be a catch like it only goes 200 miles or it will only tow 1000lbs for that trim model.

It is very possible to produce a base version in this price range.
Our F150 true base is single row seat, 8 foot box and no power equipment.
Super basic actual work truck. That truck was under $25K. Don't need Porsche performance. Need to tow 15,000 lb and carry 2,000 lb. 200 mile range towing would be a good target. Elon... Please put the charge port in the front so we can pull straight in when towing at all chargers.

That's a great point about the chargeport location

Yeah. Drives me nutters when I'm towing, which is a fair bit, and there's only a couple of SCs around with pull in stalls for the X.

Don't be silly, a Model 3 isn't big enough to seat 6. Model X El Camino.
