Damage caused by misalignment from the factory. Isnt this the same as the gaps were so bad it caused the car to get damaged?

That's an interesting dynamic going on in your state. I'd figure the Supreme Court would more reflect the electorate, but go figure. What really has me scratching my head... 105 counties in a state with a population of about 3 million. Here in Looney-toon-ville - we have 57 counties for 40 million of us (only about 30 million too many). It's never a clean population-driven equation - LA county has about 10,000,000 folks - while some of the rural counties near Oregon probably have 30,000 or 40,000 tops.

I've always wondered how many Teslas (and other EV's) sell in the middle of the country. I know we're over the edge in CA with EV's for many good reasons, but am curious about the market on a macro / nationwide level. So thanks for filling me in !

Yes, and Ford admits they have panel gap problems in that letter. Shouldn't it be on CNN by now?

Elon's big mouth and Twitter obsession have inserted Tesla into politics. In addition, since everyone likes to gang up on Silicon Valley, that's extra fuel for detractors all across the country.

Teslas are popular here for many reasons... the "it" car where BMW's MBZ's etc only bring a yawn... unlimited access to the carpool lanes (very big deal)... and though you and I don't agree it appears... many of us in CA are freaked out by climate change.

KS is closer to 4mil population, but the point stands. It’s really really inefficient. Next consider that every one of those counties has a county government and at least one school district. Some of those counties have two or three school districts despite having (shrinking) populations of fewer than 10,000 people. Not students - people. It’s a mess.

BUT the predominantly red legislature comes by and large from all those rural counties - so they’re not inclined to consolidate things to save money. A tad hypocritical. Nebraska switched to a unicameral legislature about 100 years ago and manages to govern itself with about 50 senators and no house. But Kansas needs 125 reps and another 40 senators. They’re in session about 4mos of the year and spend most of that time squabbling over gun and social issue legislation before cramming in another spending increase. So stupid. So inefficient. And not gonna change.

And now all you Californians can thank me for today’s lesson in the dysfunction of a state many of you will never visit. Pretty sunsets and fun thunderstorms, tho. And the mortgage on my 4,500sqft pad is less than the rent on your 1,200sqft apartment. :)

Yes. The article talks about that. Read beyond the headline.

Good news my Tesla friends, Ford believes they have fixed the MME’s 12v battery issue - less than a week after it popped up. They had to divert advertising dollars to bring the engineering staff back online, but a software update should be coming soon. The bad news: a recent ad campaign featuring Matt Mcconaughey and Snookie has now been delayed.

Wrong - it uses real time data like all GOM on ICE vehicles. Get in a tesla a fire up all heaters (resistive) and it would look the same and cause your reaction. Tesla just tosses EPA crap up there and you get all the garbage posted here about 'range'

With that said, you see the errors? that thing is FUBAR. Very close to buying one, but then the heat pump appeared at Tesla and all bets were off...

Glad a software update that requires a dealer visit is "coming soon". More concerning is that some folks are having to have major components replaced. Multiple issues??

    Yeesh.

As someone who has worked for an automaker it’s not really a huge surprise. OEMs spend enormous sums of money to “mile up” press cars and eliminate any hint of defects before reviewers get them. Then a company like PageOne combs through the cars after each drive to ensure they are flawless.

Tesla, of course, doesn’t do any of this. They don’t even have a PR department.

Mach-E for some unknown reasons provides no way to see Rated range. That 115 miles range is an Estimated range based on whatever factors the computer took into account (previous driving history, temperature, etc.?). The problem with this is that it does not give you any idea of what your NEXT drive is going to be; basically, if I enter a destination 150 miles away along an easy route (or any new destination for that matter), will the car recalculate the Estimated range? I don't know, but if not then this Estimated range is useless and can be dangerous if I plan a heavier drive trip than the trips in my recent drive history.

You never know... I've visited most of your neighbors (CO / OK / MO / IA) over the years. I'm also one of those people who wants to at least step foot in all 50 states before I go to the battery recycling plant in the sky. (This is an EV forum after all).

This of course has nothing to do with Teslas... but I just saw in an article about the power outages in TX that those guys have 215 counties. I know the place is bigger than god... but still.

Now that I think about it - there was a gal I used to work with - very cute - who was from Kansas and played either basketball or volleyball (very tall) for the Jayhawks. So there you go - a solid KS import.

That rear window falling out of a Tesla has been the lead story on InsideEVs for most of the day. And yes, no mention on the site about the MachE cars being stranded on the road...

I've got attention of Zach Shahan from ClearTechnica to these Mach-E issues discussed everywhere but the news channels. Hopefully he picks up the story.

There is something fishy about this story. 1) you can always see the window from the beginning of the video which is not the case with any other TeslaCam videos. 2) the owner states the window shuttered first in the door, but it falls out as a whole piece that is carefully cut at the bottom 3) the owner expresses strong dissatisfaction with her customer experience with Tesla but, coincidentally, it looks she works as a customer experience manager in automotive-related companies.

    ... just saying.
