Mx/ms Route From Fremont

My understanding was that my MX was being transported from Fremont to the east coast via train and then shipped over the Atlantic. With all the M3 chat I see vehicle carriers are leaving from SFO. Is there only M3s on these ships or have they changed how MX/MS are transported to Europe?

Well, if rumours of how long that train takes are true then they'd be quicker to pull them by donkey, but do M3s go to the same European port, given the need to reassemble MS/Xs?

Sales rep emailed yesterday to say it was now on a boat and to expect delivery late July. That doesn't fit with any of the boats from SFO so must have trained it over to east coast

Correct, the S & X still follow the same route, i.e. slooow train to Houston and ship to Holland. From there to the factory in Tilburg to be put together again (motors and battery pack travel separately from the car so to avoid 10% import duty - it’s parts not a car). Then across to the U.K.

With the 3 they obviously decided the 10% import tax saving either wasn’t worth it and/or Tilburg couldn’t cope with the volume.
