    Hey guys,

The app notified me of a software update and I'm now in the car, selected install now. When looking at the instrument cluster, I see the following warning message, "Software Update Required contact Tesla Service". Is this normal?

    Photo attached.

Also, after I start the update I assume that I can leave the car and let it just do its thing? I hope that I don't have to sit in here and babysit for 1 hour+ or however long it will take to fully install.

The firmware will only update when the car is parked. After you park, select the clock icon and select install now. I'm not sure why you're getting the on dash warning.

Not only do you not have to be there you should probably leave it alone while it is installing.

Well, that was quick and easy, the service warning message went away on it's own once the update completed.

Yes, that's normal during the update. It should go away when the install is finished.

It's best to stay far away from the car when it's updating. Don't look at it. Don't go near it. Above all, don't be tempted to open a door.
Updates are set by default to install overnight.

By looking at your energy graph, I see you have been enjoying your car!

You made me go back and look at that picture again. For some reason I got the Tesla smile even thinking about someone else driving liking that :)

Yea, it got me worry as well. This is the first time I got the software update. While doing the post update checking, the car was making lot of weird noises. Better just stay away and let it do its things.
