Here is where I am:
6/28 9:29pm - EV-CPO Alert
6/28 10:00pm - Completed the deposit and received the automated Thank You e-mail
6/30 - Received an e-mail from Christian the New England adviser asking for me to call his cell phone
6/30 - After a few rounds of phone tag, I spoke to the adviser and let him know I did not want to have to pay the $2k transport fee to NY. He researched my car and it was in Tempe, AZ, no location was available on the CPO listing when I had bought it. I asked him to research other locations for delivery without a transport fee with my preference being Denver.
7/1 - Traded text messages, but delivery location still not confirmed
7/5 - Confirmed I can pick up in Denver. This is a great for me because I can get a direct flight and have friends to crash with.
7/6 - E-mail intro to delivery specialist. General 6-8 week time frame is provided, but they will know more after the 200-point inspection.

The update is there is no update, but the responses to e-mail have been prompt at least.

7/11 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available.
7/18 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available. The move is now marked as "high priority".

06/19 - Ordered in Montreal's SC, car is coming from Toronto. Delivery estimate end of July.
06/22 - Got email about financing from California, numbers for my trade-in need to be updated.
06/23 - Got confirmation from CPO advisor that car arrived in Montréal already :)
06/23 - Asked for pictures but CPO advisor politely suggested to wait until the car is ready.
06/27 - Called Credit Analyst in California and got numbers right for financing.
06/29 - Texted CPO advisor for Trade-in sale update and got no answer.
06/30 - Texted CPO advisor again for Trade-in sale update and got no answer.
07/03 - Called CPO advisor about Trade-in sale and he emailed back asking for some docs.
07/04 - Got contacted by person who will take care of the Trade-in and that should be done by Friday.
07/04 - First contact with DS, he says car is going through certification process, will update me at the end of the week.
07/04 - Got a call from CPO advisor late in the day, he offered to match the private offer I had for my trade-in.
07/06 - Dropped off my trade-in at the SC for inspection, due to some miscommunication not the best experience.
I spent over 2 hours at the service center while actually that was not needed.
07/07 - Trade-in step shows as complete in MyTesla. 4 out of 6 completed.
07/07 - DS confirmed that car is in the body shop and he will update me when car is back at the SC.
07/11 - DS asked for up to date payout letter for the loan on my trade-in.
07/11 - Sent payout letter and DS got back asking me to drop by the store to give him a check for the negative equity.
07/11 - Trade-in is officially transferred to Tesla. DS confirmed the car is still in the body shop.
07/18 - Emailed DS for update but got no response.
07/19 - Texted DS to ask if he saw my email from yesterday. He responded saying he was out of the office and will reach out to me shortly.
07/20 - Texted DS again for update. Got response saying car is still in the body shop which will be closed the next 2 weeks due to construction holidays. Bummed about this. Likely update on Monday.
07/20 - Texted back saying that this will put the delivery date way over the original estimate. Got response he will try to update me tomorrow.

Anyone get a loan and put a big down payment and got Gap coverage just in case? I put 25%+ down and my interest is just a couple dollars of my payment, but Gap is only $350. Not sure if I should get it just in case? I'm checking with my insurance agent to see how much my auto insurance charges for it, since that I'd pay "month-2-month"

What would gap insurance pay out if you wrecked the car but the totalled value was still greater than what you owe on the loan? I didn't think gap was the same as replacement cost insurance, so in that case your gap insurance does nothing.

But maybe I misunderstand gap insurance?

What gap insurance is .... roughly

Lets say you have a loan on your car. And you get into an accident in which the car is considered totaled by your auto insurance company.

At that point, the auto insurance company will put a value on what your car was worth... based on the year, mileage, features, local comps, etc. They will then give you a check for that value. If that amount is more than the loan balance, you keep the difference.

However, if it is less -- then you will owe the loan company the balance due. What gap insurance does is bridging that "gap" between the amount paid out and the amount owed.

Sounds like a waste of money. You would be buying insurance protection against a possible loss of only a few thousand dollars at absolute most.

Exactly why I was debating not to. I've always had it because at 0% interest I wouldn't put a big down payment, just enough to try to not owe more than its worth. But let's say you get in an accident, its not totalled, your car is no longer worth the same as the same exact car with no accident. That's where I'm worried with the MS. I have $10k+ on the value they put on the Gap quote of wiggle room, but what I'm not sure is, does the value in case of a totalled accident decrease if there was a non totalled accident prior? It's "only" $350, but it's $350 wasted if its not worth paying for the worst case scenario. I wouldn't have questioned it had this not been a Tesla where a repair can rack up to $10k easy, not sure what would a wreck do to a value in an MS.

So I noticed something new the other day. I hardly drive at night (will much more in winter) and when driving down a curved road the other night everything seemed brighter suddenly. Took another turn and noticed a light come on suddenly and illuminate the side of the road. I guess I glossed over that being in the options somewhere but forgot about it. When you turn, the car turns lights in the direction you're turning. Pretty nice.

It is very nice in deed! Mine has it but the side light sort of just "clicks" on (not
audible sound) and off when you straighten up. I think the new ones may be a more subtle on? Not sure. Either way I love turning at night and that little extra bit of light shine the turn.

I will let you know how things go, good luck with your delivery date. Our MS were probably on the same trunk that hit Dallas last Thursday.

From what I understand they've actually had ours for a couple weeks but it had to spend the last week at a Dallas body shop getting some work done. Turns out it was indeed a service loaner prior to this (so listed on the purchase agreement) so we're crossing our fingers it wasn't treated too poorly.

Mine was a loaner for a few weeks I believe. It was spotless when I got it! Looked brand new compared to my trade in that had twice the milage. So don't worry too much.
