Scheduled mine for 8/17. Hopefully you'll get yours soon. How far east of Phoenix are you located? Right now, the plan is to go north and take 40 since I wouldn't be able to make it to the El Paso supercharger.

155 miles. It is no mans land out here. The only charging solutions are in the form of various campgrounds equipped with NEMA 14-50 outlets. Don't know if you are familiar with "Plug Share" but it is just about the best APP of it's kind that I've found out there.

I use it with my Volt currently. Taking 40 instead of 10 adds about 3 hours to my trip, but I'll probably have to spend more than that charging via 14-50 to get to El Paso.

Can't say I blame you there lol!! I wonder if the Plug Share website will run in the native browser in the Model S? Anyway safe travels and enjoy your S. If you happen to spot my '12 Sig #162 in Tempe... tell it hello for me lol!! Not sure when I'll get it. Deposit was made on 6/29, car was "like yours" in So. California. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get an 8/23/17 delivery.

Congrats!! Though, please report back on findings with SC with regards to the DU noise. I brought my car in for an alignment as it was pulling more and more to the right compared to when I first took delivery 1.5 months ago, and a similar noise issue. A "humming" around 25-35mph or at least that is when it is noticeable. Went for a test drive with the tech who confirmed the noise to be coming from the DU however indicated that it is normal though might need a DU replacement. He mentioned something about voltage leakage or something. The shop supervisor took a look at it while the car was getting the alignment and also indicated that it is normal. Indicated they checked fluids in the DU. While the car appears to run fine, that "humming" is not too obnoxiously loud yet so no work/replacement of the DU.
What kind of humming is it?

I have this really weird "humm" too, that worries me every time I hear it because it sounds like someone is passing you honking a horn but a ways down so its very low. I noticed it happens when I accelerate sometimes from almost stop or let go of the petal and it starts to slow down, already at a slower speed.

Car was delivered today. It will be 6 weeks as of Saturday.

Cannot believe it has 57k miles. Looks brand new on the outside (prior owner had it wrapped). The inside looks great too, except for the cupholder in the console, which they apparently forgot to clean. It has stuck on food and hair in it... I did not notice until I got home, so I will clean myself.

The motor has an obnoxious high pitch whine that randomly increases in volume, especially around 25-45mph, and seems to be the worst when I maintain a speed of ~25mph. I called service center and they are going to look at it in the morning. The guy I spoke with thinks they will have to replace DU.
Mine had 30k but it too looked brand new! Except for the passenger seatbelt clip (where you clip into) it looked like someone spilled coffee on it and it was the only spot they didn't clean, but you can tell it was an accidental miss.

I am still hoping to take delivery this week and had a question for the forum.

These cars depreciate at a rate of $1000/week give or take a few hundred bucks (Lets not start a debate of the real depreciation of used Teslas). My question is, has anyone been able to negotiate a lower price due to the wait for their CPO?

If so, what can we expect and how should it be brought up with the Delivery Advisor?

Thanks!

Good afternoon all, after a lot of consideration, and the arrival of our second child, we decided to take a serious look at buying a Model S CPO before our M3 reservation came up. June 9, we test drove an S75 at our local Tesla store. Tesla employees were excellent and provided as much info on the CPO program as they could and put us in contact with the regional CPO rep. We casually monitored the CPO site, EV-CPO Hunter, and waited patiently. At this point, we were maybe only half serious about taking the plunge. Speaking to the regional CPO rep, we became more comfortable with the lifespan of a higher mileage EV (especially a Tesla) and ran the numbers. As the weeks drew on, we saw cars in a price range we were very comfortable with, but every time we "slept on it" the car was reserved by a like minded person.

July 1 - Getting more serious, I was on EV-CPO ready to buy the monitoring services when we saw an S85 we liked. We are in NC, car is in NY. Thought it over for 20 min and reserved. ~P5xxx S85 with pano roof, "tech package," and air suspension. 61k miles.
July 5 - Phone conversation with our regional CPO rep, he explained the timeframe and the procedure for an out of state purchase. We decided to go and pick it up in Paramus NJ and roadtrip back to NC.
July 15 - Car was queued up for inspection and refurbishment.
Late July - Car goes out to body shop to get cosmetic issues taken care of and to get up to CPO standard.
August 4 - Currently waiting on car to come back from body shop for final prep. It's expected back this week. Instructed by CPO rep to go ahead and take care of financing. Applied to various financing options outside of Tesla, rates out there in the wild are low!

Overall, the wait has been kinda fun. The anticipation level is high, but the wait gave us a chance to install an EVSE, upgrade our home's electrical supply amperage, and do plenty of research on the car. Our local Tesla even brought a Tesla out to our house to ensure that the car would clear our driveway apron (it did, on high and very high settings).

Getting excited, and seeing more and more Teslas out on our commute and throughout the Triangle region of NC. I do feel a bit of jealously out there on the highway...

7/3 ordered CPO P85
7/5 got email ,said 6-8 weeks.
Started on my things to do on MyTesla page.
Got 4/4 items done.
Now MyTesla page is asking for payment.
Doing insurance quotes now. State Farm, whom I been with for almost 40 years wanted $1500/year.
Looking at Geico and Progressive.
7/13 - update
Received update today, car is in Houston getting refreshed. DS said he will let me know next week on timeline. I went with Progressive insurance as they were the cheapest. I also liked the way they treated my daughter when she totaled her Pruis. They gave her a check four days later. Great service.
Getting terrible excited!
7/14-update
I asked Brent if I can get some pictures of my car in Houston. He sent me five pictures and a blank copy of the CPO inspection form. It's quite a list of things they check. Hopefully not too many things will be needed to be addressed so I can get my car in a few weeks.
7/28 update- contacted DS , I stated to him since car has been in Houston service center they should know what's needed and a "ballpark" date for delivery. He responds back with they are way ahead of the 6-8 week timeline and are now looking at early August.
7/29 update
Brent just called me, my car is ready! Has to be shipped from Houston to Dallas for pickup. Might be as early as next Saturday! He mentioned they replaced the drivetrain due to noise on original unit. Now I just need a firm date so I can fly to Dallas and pick it up. 27 days from ordering to completing refurb.

8/2- got a firm pickup date of Monday 8/7. Got my plane ticket, pics to follow after pickup. Total time was 5 weeks + 1 day.
8/7- picked up car!
Got up at 2:30 AM to catch earliest flight out. Got to DFW and waited til 1 hour before appointment to contact DS about getting picked up at airport. DS said previous week he would touch base with Dallas service center. No response, so I took a Lyft to service center. This was the ONLY sour point of the entire experience. Car was beautiful! It did not look like a 3 year car with 40+K miles on it. I noticed a small paint chip on mirror and they touched it up on the spot. The DS at Dallas was awesome. We spent about 2 hours going over everything. I left and had the exciting and nerve racking drive home from Dallas to Wichita Falls. The car is more then I expected. I have owned two Dodge Vipers and a Challenger SRT/8, I feel this car is quicker and much easier to drive. The 5 week wait was worth it!
As a added bonus the car has a sun roof. I thought it had just a glass roof.

6/15 - Placed deposit
6/15 - Was told to expect a 4-6 week time frame
6/29 - Was informed car was "assigned shipping"
7/12 - Ended my Nissan lease and was met by Tesla with my loaner, a Hertz rental :(
7/12 - Was able to see my car in on the lot. Interior looked nice but could use an exterior detail job.
7/27 - Got voice mail that they don't have my Hertz paperwork and need me to sign another agreement.
8/2 - Called to get an update as an email I sent about status had not been replied to. Was informed my car is scheduled to go into the body shop next week. This sucks. I heard that last week. I was also told cars are usually at the body shop for two weeks which means I'm still three weeks out from delivery. I inquired again about a Tesla loaner and was informed there are none.
8/7 - Got a call today. The car is ready! Guess the info about the body shop was wrong. I scheduled a pickup for Wednesday night.

I left work excited and got a flat tire in the rental crossing a construction metal plate! Now I don't want to drive the rental with a little donut. Will have to see if I can reschedule a pickup for tomorrow?

Also waiting to hear back on my loan as my original offer expired Friday.

This will all be work this right?

Got an email response from my CPO rep. on 8/1 said car "should" be "deliverable"?? in two weeks. "circa 8/15" on my calendar, it also copied my DS in Tempe .......

Today 8/8 after another week of silence, reached out to CPO Rep. and DS. only the CPO rep responded ... now telling me "mid august delivery" will not firm up a date range or specific day!! will not give me any information as to what progress if any has / has not been made... Aside from the car arriving in Tempe I don't know any more now than I did on 6/29 when I made the deposit!! While I'm pretty sure I'll be pleased with the car when I FINALLY get to see / drive it. That said, I would not wish the CPO buying experience on my worst enemy.

It's not the waiting that is an issue as that is known going in. It is the lack of communication, transparency and information that would allow a buyer to see a path forward that is most frustrating IMHO.

No kidding,, I was waffling on getting an inventory car just to speed it up as I promised the wife I'm taking her to SD for her birthday in a Tesla at the end of September.. I'm mailed the CPO rep and Zero, Zilch, not a word back but its only been 18 days so I'm not too amped up yet, for another month at least..

Perhaps in our case it is the fact that we live in the "somewhat" backward state of Arizona which does not support Tesla's direct sales model that is keeping the lid on free flowing information??? Though based on other responses here and around the forum, not sure that matters or not. Tesla REALLY needs to improve their sales chops as far as their used cars go or I can see the complaints coming! It is frustrating and will need to change when Tesla finally runs out of early adopters and has to begin selling cars to people who WILL NOT donate a $1k+ deposit for a car they can't get any information on, see or drive, until the day they take delivery.

Yes it seems like the norm where not much interaction is had until the car is close to done. I wanted to see if it had LTE and if not I would upgrade but no word yet. That's when I hit the EVO_CPO site looking for something else but realize that will just push out my date even farther..

Its not just Arizona, it seems to be like that in most places. After 5 weeks of hearing nothing (and 7 weeks in total) I finally had a breakthrough with mine on Monday, but only after i called twice AND emailed. Even then, I was told the delivery specialist would call me the next day and that never happened. Delivery could be as early as next week, but Im doubtful that's the case.

Here is where I am:
6/28 9:29pm - EV-CPO Alert
6/28 10:00pm - Completed the deposit and received the automated Thank You e-mail
6/30 - Received an e-mail from Christian the New England adviser asking for me to call his cell phone
6/30 - After a few rounds of phone tag, I spoke to the adviser and let him know I did not want to have to pay the $2k transport fee to NY. He researched my car and it was in Tempe, AZ, no location was available on the CPO listing when I had bought it. I asked him to research other locations for delivery without a transport fee with my preference being Denver.
7/1 - Traded text messages, but delivery location still not confirmed
7/5 - Confirmed I can pick up in Denver. This is a great for me because I can get a direct flight and have friends to crash with.
7/6 - E-mail intro to delivery specialist. General 6-8 week time frame is provided, but they will know more after the 200-point inspection.
7/11 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available.
7/18 - Inquired on the move to Denver, no update available. The move is now marked as "high priority".
7/27 - Send an e-mail in to the DS. The car has been moved to Denver and has been inspected. They are planning to replace the drive unit.
7/28 - Received an e-mail that they are targeting week of 8/14 for delivery! Great news, looking forward to the Model 3 webcast tonight.
8/9 - Car should be done around the 18th, but I need to wait until after a family vacation to pickup since I have a long drive home. Delivery tentatively scheduled for 8/29 in Denver.

I am planning out the trip home using evtripplanner.com, says 34 hours with charging time.

7/20 Met SA in Buena Park CA to validate search and place a deposit. Deposit made and "Congratulations email" received
- This car is already at the Buena Park service center so I am hoping this will expedite my process
7/24 Asked SA to keep me in to loop and asked if I could purchase any add on's as part of the transaction
- SA responded same day and said he would keep me in the loop, but did not answer question regarding accessories etc.
7/25 I requested photos and SA quickly responded with the photos of the cosmetic issues with the car
7/27 Just waiting
7/28 "Quick update for you – your Model S has been submitted to quality inspection with our service managers. It looks very likely that we will be able to schedule your Model S in the next 7-10 days.
8/3 Your Model S is in final quality control inspection now. As soon as it’s finished (and assuming it passes QC for workmanship), we’ll be able to put a delivery date on your calendar! It doesn’t look like it will be any sooner than next Tuesday (8/8)
8/7 Your Model S is still in queue for QC. The manager who oversees all QC-approvals (typically at end of the day) does work M-F, so I am optimistic to have your inspection completed soon for a delivery this week assuming a passing report! Rest assured, we will be in touch just as soon as it passes
8/9 All team are aligned to make this happen for you. If the car passes final quality checks in time, are you able to come for delivery in Buena Park this Fri. at 1pm, or 3pm - Delivery Appointment Set for 8/11 at 1:00PM!

I went into My Tesla and paid for my car and will be picking it up tomorrow at 1:00pm. Heading to getyourwheels at 2:30 to get a little personalization! (If anyone is interested in a set of Dark Grey 21" Non-Staggered wheels as CPO take-offs PM me).

I did not see a delivery inspection checklist on this thread (maybe I missed it). What are the top things to look out for while doing a delivery inspection? I just want to make sure the I don't miss any one the big ones. Thanks in advance!

I found this list on another forum...

1. check for dent on tip of hood where you are supposed to press to close frunk (mine had a dent). The second gen hoods have better re-enforcements in that area.
2.look for soft dents around the car where a big ball like a basketball or soccer ball might have hit the car (my hood had a soft dent)

3. look for scratches or dings (anything bigger than 10 mm, tesla will fix it as per cpo agreement)

4. look at the rims and carefully run hands on the edges looking for painted rash

5. make sure you have a parcel shelf

6. check charger bag and make sure it there and the adapters are included

7. make sure you have the cpo books (warrantee stuff) that come with the car.

8. tow eye

9. make sure there are no holes in the interior or grease marks

10. check windows and pano for cracks/damage

11. check the nose cone for damage and bumper.

12. look for touch ups around the car, if bigger than 10 mm, tesla is responsible and will repaint

13. all impact damage is teslas responsibility as per agreement.
