My delivery date was today but Tesla has no idea where my car is

I was supposed to take delivery of my Model S Plaid today but my delivery specialist called me 40 minutes before my delivery saying that the car hasn't arrived and they have no idea where it is. Wtf! My new estimated delivery date is now July 22-24.

I just astounds me how bad Tesla service and delivery has gotten in the last few years. They're like the Spirit Airlines of car dealerships. Super frustrating.

I suspect they do know where it is otherwise they would give a new date out so far. They either forgot to transfer, sold it or building another or found another.

If they lost it, they would say we’ll talk tomorrow or something like that.

In my opinion, it's most likely they found some issues with the car and couldn't fix it in time. Take a note of the VIN if it ever changes.

They are supposed to check the car for defect first after arrival and before delivery. If it's delayed they shouldn't wait till last minute to notify you.

Won’t surprise me if they sold the car to someone else and it’s already in another location… thus the later delivery date. I think it happened to someone else on TMC… same VIN to different buyers and they ended up having to source/“prioritize” another VIN for the buyer left hanging :(

I took a screenshot of my VIN and a few hours ago it was still there. Now my VIN and estimated delivery window are gone. I just get the generic "We'll notify you when it's time to continue with your pre-delivery tasks". Sigh.

Looks like I got a text update.

"Hi _, your Model S has just departed from our factory and is in transit to your delivery center!

Be on the lookout for a message within the next week to schedule your delivery appointment. When you receive that message, be sure to schedule as soon as possible, as appointments fill up quickly.

Reply to this message if you need assistance."

Has anyone else received a generated message like this before? I'm in the midwest so I wonder if this means I should expect my Tesla to reach to the delivery center by the end of this week.
