I’m pretty sure that it’s been shown that the Model 3 does not have the port. Zero emissions vehicles (EVs and fuel cell cars) are exempt from the requirement.
No one has been able to find an OBDll port on the 3. Trevor M3OC was talking to an employee in Tesla’s cafeteria about using a Navdy and the guy said “won’t work in a Model 3”. Trevor said “What, no OBDll?” Employee responded “you didn’t hear it from me”.
OK thanks--makes sense but given various state bureaucracies they could still insist on it. And, FWIW, why does the S have one?
WTF - you guys only read headlines?? Most owners will still get plenty of free electricity, though, with a 400kWh yearly credit, and with electricity past that point still costing less than gasoline would. Model 3, from the beginning we said free charging is not included in the Model 3 – free unlimited charging is not included, so, free long distance is, but not free local. It becomes really unwieldy for people to use the gas station approach for electric cars, like, cars should really be charged where you charge your phone, but then you just need to solve the long distance problem which is what the supercharger stations will do.
For Josh and others who have imminent deliveries, did your Tesla Account profile for the M3 look like this, even on delivery day??
This simple link answers all. Sorry I didn't look first or I missed in this 9 page long thread. color me a moron Supercharging
Just checked. Yes, my delivery appointment is all scheduled and I've received the email confirming it, telling me where to go and what to bring... yet my Tesla account page for the M3 does look EXACTLY like that... saying they'll still reach out to me to schedule the appointment. strange.
