Maybe that the new firmware has divided the range of the fan speed in eleven rather than ten. I think that from an electronic point of view this is possible.
Yeah ... they must have made the same gradient move to the a/c fan like they did to the volume ... I noticed a distinctly slower fan after 4.3 ... this explains it.
The max fan speed is 8 when the Range Mode is ON. It is 11 when the range mode is off. At 8, on a cold winter day, the speed of heating the car is inadequate. Tesla service told me to turn off the Range Mode to get the higher fan speed - at the cost of poorer "fuel economy." In the summer, the fan speed of 8 is adequate, so, the Range Mode can be ON.
