I have been considering black textured or matte vinyl, but no one has inquired about it yet. The Macan PPF banner at the bottom of both doors won't really address the MY issue, which is primarily where the sheet metal flares out just ahead of and up the rear wheel arch, where the body is deflecting debris. I see a lot of dirt accumulation along the bottoms of the doors, but I myself haven't experienced any actual damage until the flare starts. It's really a regional thing, though. My roads get sanded, others get rock salt, gravel, even crushed lava rock (ouch!), and others are just in gritty areas. Others may be getting actual damage further forward that I'm just not aware of.
One thing I will say regarding visibility is that my rear doors felt like sandpaper. I used a clay bar to knock down high spots and otherwise prep the surface, and after the PPF was installed none of the chips could be seen through the gloss. Again, I suspect it depends on how bad the damage is.
