My phone is "old" in phone years and is unreliable as a fob, if I was to get a new one to replace it what model and O/S should I get to optimize the phone/Model 3 relationship? If your phone works perfectly, please post it here.

Androids, i.e. Samsung work just as well, if not better. You have a ton of choices. Just stick to newer models.

In terms of working best with the Model 3, the OP would have better odds with an iPhone. All the surveys so far have shown androids have far more issues working reliably as a key.iPhones are not the only answer..

Samsung Galaxy: 7, 8, 8+, 9, 9+ should all work well. I've used 7 thru 8+ on my Volt (Onstar) and have not experienced any issues.
Have you ever used it as a key for a Tesla Model 3? We’re not talking about app functionality here.
My M3 hasn't arrived yet.. so nope, net yet.
The people above this post could you please share how your phone keys are working 100% of the time correctly. How do you have your phones set up for connectivity via app, phone, and car.
