Is this something I should be able to fix myself, or do I need to take it in.

It doesn't go back easily, and I'm not sure I should put some strength into it, because I don't want to damage the electronics.

If you cant easily pop it back, I'd take it in.

Mine did the exact same thing. I was able to pop it back in, but it would just come right back out later. I emailed service, and sent them a pic. They ordered the part and had me bring the car in when it was delivered. So far so good, staying in place.

Had exact same issue. You need to take it in. They need to replace something. I apologize but I lost track of what part they had to replace, but my issue was entirely identical to yours.

This is what I want to do, have the part ready.for when I come in.

How long did you have to wait for the fix?

Mine looked like that at delivery! They took it in the back of the delivery center for a few minutes and said they needed to put in a missing clip... 3500miles / 3 months later and it is still looking normal. So I think they know what to do.

Also, for whatever reason, the seat bottom plastic looks slightly reddish compared to the other gray plastic in the car.

I think it took them about a week to get the part in.

The part number on my invoice is:
Part M3 1R LH SIDE SHLD OB (1088964-00-E) QTY 1
