My Seat Broke

Is this something I should be able to fix myself, or do I need to take it in.

It doesn't go back easily, and I'm not sure I should put some strength into it, because I don't want to damage the electronics.

Had exact same issue. You need to take it in. They need to replace something. I apologize but I lost track of what part they had to replace, but my issue was entirely identical to yours.
 
Mine looked like that at delivery! They took it in the back of the delivery center for a few minutes and said they needed to put in a missing clip... 3500miles / 3 months later and it is still looking normal. So I think they know what to do.

Also, for whatever reason, the seat bottom plastic looks slightly reddish compared to the other gray plastic in the car.
