What is the best advice to obtain audio with the HDMI kit? Would love to stream some stuff at the same time as listening to Audio. - I forsee Summer roadtrips, streaming MLB.

Bluetooth is really the only option. On my android phone, video is streamed from phone and I can chose audio to stream through car.

The cool thing is due to the delay in both they end up being synced fine on the tesla monitor.

Hi Toofan

Here is the installation instruction FYI

We have also attached the QR codes for the down links of the installation instruction alone with the packing

Best Regards
Tommy (BearBu)

Thanks. It works great. Using a miracast device and bluetooth for audio. Perfect sync :)

I think there may be heat issues with the box.
On a hot day when the car has been outside (90 degree weather), the backup camera cuts in and out. I suspect it might be from the box

Interesting stuff.
Does this unit allow you to full function cast an android phone to the screen?
i.e.- make the screen my phone?
Thanks

Yup. Connected the fm transmitter plugged into the 12v power supply to the Nvidia shield itself via Bluetooth.Game streaming sucks.Tethering from my phone. Downloaded games run fine tho.Tv and everything runs fine. I’m sure in WiFi spots game streaming will be better. I’m thinking some kind of WiFi booster might help me with this.

How many inputs can the box switch using the steering wheel? Is it just one or can you have more?

Unless it has been updated recently you can only have one HDMI input with the kit. I do have a separate HDMI switch purchased from amazon that allows me to toggle between HDMI sources that go to the kit. I select which source goes to the HDMI switcher kit for the car. I placed it under my dash. The only problem I have found is if there are different resolutions for the video then you will need to "escape" back to the reverse camera then back into the HDMI source again. Otherwise it will freeze or black screen. I dont find it to be a much of a limitation.

LowTech is exactly right. I only have my hdmi into my Nvidia shield. But you can use a splitter at that point. Be careful of what you hook up if you intend to use a inverter through the cigarette lighter. Nvidia shield only uses 10-12 v. Something like a ps4 or Xbox with a power brick is too much.

Thanks for the replies LowTech and Solar. A switch seems like the way to go.

I actually want to use this for a baby monitor as we just got a little addition to our family but thought why stop there? :) Maybe I can add a CarPC. I used to build them about 12 years ago so I have a few rusty skills laying around

I'm currently scratching my head on how to get real-time audio into the car directly (not through an FM transmitter). Tesla's don't seem to have any options here that I've found. Have you come across anything?

Only thing I can think of is to take over speakers and add an amplifier with some clever switching, but that seems like way too much work.

Depending on if you have something with the app On your phone for your baby monitor you can mirror and get audio through Bluetooth on the phone. I have this setup to mirror of my phone.
