My Tesla Transformation - Radar and Laser Integration

I'm getting the exact same setup on my new P85D except my installer in Atlanta can embed the display in the mirror in-house which is nice.

I decided to NOT get the rear laser jammers, only three in the front. My reasoning is: I have never been hit with laser from behind, only scenario I can think of is a speed trap situation on a road trip. But Waze will probably warn me, and I rarely take road trips, and around here speed limit is 75 outside of cities and I'd have to go 85 to get a ticket and 90 to get points on my record. From what I understand my range at 90+mph isn't going to be very great, I'll probably burn up all the time I saved at the supercharger, if I make it :)

So am I crazy? Of course there is always a small chance but it seems very unlikely. What seems more likely is I get pulled over and the officer recognizes the jammers in the back and causes me more grief than necessary (esp in states where they are illegal). I've never had a cop investigate the front of my car...

Great choice on the Bel/ALP combo. Best system currently available IMO.

We also do Tesla mirror modifications in house. As you can see by the level of integration in this installation, we specialize in custom fabrication and truly factory like built in installations. We have yet to see another shop remotely mount the ALP and Escort Live buttons using micro switches as we do. It requires opening up the modules and bypassing the factory buttons making for a much more integrated install.

As far as the rear diffuser debate, I partially agree with you although people do get hit from the back. Also in the hundreds if not thousands of systems we've installed over the years, I've never heard of a LEO pointing out rear diffusers. They're legal in about 80% of states anyway. Better safe than sorry. I love overkill but 3 front diffusers is not necessary in a vehicle the size of a Tesla. As long as they are mounted properly out front(not behind the grill).

Best of luck in your install. I'm sure it will be more than adequate given the gear you've chosen.

Did you ever get your system installed? Any pics or impressions? Would love to see it and hear about your system.

Wait ....what? Georgia is the most notorious state for REAR laser hits. I've driven through there 4 times, and 50% (2 out of 4) of the time I've gotten hit with rear laser! (ALP).

Anyone have any good comments to say about the K40 system with laser? An installer is also saying it has ticket guarantee refund..however that part really means nothing to me.. just want to know if I went with the k40 because it is a lot cheaper then belltronic install, is it a good system?
