South Carolina is an anti-capitalist state, they don't want consumers to have choices in buying cars. The dealerships have a total stranglehold on the politicians, so there is an outright ban on consumers having the option to buy from the manufacturer. They even passed a corrupt law that bans Tesla service centers, although there is now a partial Tesla service center just opened first week of January 2024. It's located at 6301 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29223. They only rent the building, cannot own it, no signs allowed, it only has limited services, they aren't allowed to do tires, alignments, anything that involves coolant or liquids, or high voltage battery, etc. Its very restricted, again because the politicians are owned by the dealership mafia and they don't want competition, even from an American car company. Amazing how they allow Asian, European, car dealerships no problem, but a 100% American car company service center or showroom - nope!
