Why am I not surprised that NASA thought the 1% of earth thickness Martian atmosphere would be able to blow clean the rover solar panels?
NASA should have had some sort of motorized brush figured out to clean the panels once in a while. Anyone who has ever hand washed a car knows that waiting for wind to blow away dust does not work, you need to physically disturb it.
