Nav on Auto Pilot suggested changing lanes onto the shoulder

This morning the system suggested changing lanes to the shoulder in preparation for an exit. Obviously I didn't confirm that suggestion. At the actual exit, Autopilot made the turn but turned onto the shoulder area instead of the main lane. I had to take over to prevent hitting the wall.

I didn't have this problem in the same area on a prior day. The roads were damp this morning -- perhaps the lines weren't as visible today.

Lucky you! I had autopilot think a little cutout next to the road was the onramp, and it took that with full intention (no mention of confirmation).
Scared my sister to death when I yanked the wheel back and everything in the car flew to one side.

It's also suggested me to change into the HOV lane with quad yellow lines.
