Nav System: Mileage for Address Search

Observed a strange behavior...I did an address search in NAV and when the results popped up it gave a very low mileage number (29.5 miles), but when I selected it for navigation the correct mileage (66 miles)

appeared. Here are pictures of the two screens...

Anybody else noticed this? The car is running 4.1 (1.19.31) software.

I beleive the difference is: Center screen first gives line of sight distance. Once driving distance on streets is calculated by Navigon that is displayed in the drop box and drivers screen.

On a related note: is there any way to specify fastest route versus shortest route? I'm looking and can't see it....maybe it's right under my nose. (I had an example on Saturday where the nav system wanted to take me to my destination on a side roads route which was 5 miles shorter out of a 99 mile journey, but I wanted to take the Interstate).

No such option is available at this time, but we are all hopeful that additional navigation functionality will be available in a future software release.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case. My Tom-Tom doesn't behave that way so I was a little surprised.

It would be nice if the first mileage given was the same as the second or if was labeled as "Direct Distance". The "as the crow flies" mileage is of little interest when your in a car... maybe when you're hiking... sorry about the first title. It sure didn't seem right to me when I first observed it.
