Just received an email from National Drive Electric Week about not giving test rides.
Some owners like to give test drives in their vehicles. We do not encourage
that because of liability issues. We prefer your vehicle remain stationary
for people to look at and ask questions. For the dealers we have forms for
the public to sign.

For those who are not displaying your vehicle then will be a general parking
area for the general parking.
This is a change from last year where I gave several rides at two area events.
Anyone else seeing this for their local event? Have there been issues?

Clarification
You can certainly offer rides at your discretion[…]. I just don't want it to be an expectation that those showing their vehicles are required to offer ride and drives.
. This event is creating a parking space area for showing owner’s parked EVs, a general parking area where owner rides can happen, as well as having a more formal queue setup for dealer drives.

We haven't gotten this message for our NDEW in White River Junction, VT.

Looks like their email to you was about offering test drives, not test rides. Owners still have the option to check the "Yes, I'll give test rides" box on the registration form (well, for our event, anyway).
