You can get a chargepoint charger that has a plug that will go into the NEMA 14-50 outlet. It's one of the options on Amazon. Then Tesla ships the car with an adapter so that you can plug the chargepoint cable into your car.
Derek (and anyone else who could help),
It comes with a NEMA 6-50 plug (not a NEMA 14-50P) or to be wired in to the box.
So I could try to figure out which short adapter ("pigtail", cord) would go between 6-50 male to 14-50 female
OR
I could put a 14-50 plug on the end of the wires model (which is cheaper).
So to those who know more than me (particularly if you are an electrician):
Which is better? I believe it would be to put an 14-50 plug on the wires, not adding more length of chord (plus adding an end to the wires would be cheaper because that model costs less).
Who really knows out there?

My vote would be to replace the outlet since it's cheaper and cleaner. Less adapters is better for ensuring less resistance and less heat that can slow down the flow of electrons. You could also just hard wire it if you didn't have a need for the outlet, then you're just buying the line up into the charger instead of an outlet. Might be cheaper if the hardwired version you want is cheaper.

One cool note about OPPD I learned while charging - Typically the voltage is 240 or just a bit higher which means more MPH, but not much more.

I met the owner of a brand new (in transits on it) Leaf today. He loves it and is getting 170 miles on a charge!

FYI, he believes he can get both rebates. They are coming out with another new model of Leaf next year and Nissan is promoting the current one, he thought.

So, we are in competition for the 50 rebates with Leaf buyers (who can get $4500, $3000, and the tax credit of $7500, or $15,000 off!!!). But it is also true that there are very few (if any) new Leafs on lots in town. There was one where this guy went, and he wanted something else so they shipped it here from another state. So I think there will be many more Model 3s getting the $4500 rebate than any other EV (IMHO),

Alright...confession....I recently purchased a new second gen Leaf as well to replace our first gen. It was a no brainer like you said...$15k off. Still planning on getting our Model 3, but didn't figure we would be eligible for the OPPD rebate by then since it wouldn't be til December at the earliest.

All good. We are promoting Tesla here at this site, but we are also promoting EVs. The new Leaf at about $20,000 after rebates and incentives is a winner!

I registered my car today, so I was able to submit my OPPD rebate application. Pretty straight forward process if you have all the docs, then it just said they'll let me know in a couple weeks via email. I will update when I hear something.

This e-mail today from ChargePoint made me chuckle. No ChargePoint, I don't need help, I just need my car!

As an OPPD customer in Sarpy county who took possession of my Model 3 in May, I find this a very frustrating thread.

I'm in the same situation as I live half a mile into Sarpy. I tried to move to Douglas as I placed a full price offer on a condo downtown contingent on being approved to install a charger in my private parking spot. The board would not let me so that owner sold their condo for $17k under my bid and I still live in Sarpy.

Looks like OPPD updated their site today. 10 out of the 50 full rebates were claimed in July. And 14 charger only rebates have been claimed now.

Our house has very old electrical, starting to get bids now to re-wire the whole house, I sure hope I can still snag 1 of the 50 when my car is delivered Oct~Dec. Rewiring + the M3 isn't cheap....

On another note, it sucks that Sarpy county isn't included. Was this a Douglas Co. Incentive that the county asked OPPD to trustee? Otherwise I would think it should be available to any OPPD customer.

The EV rebate is funded through a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust. I'm not sure why they have Douglas county as the scope, considering that's not even appropriately representative of the Omaha metro. I took possession of my Model 3 a month early, anyway. But damn.

Lincoln Electric is about to start an EV study. I work in downtown Lincoln and somebody placed an informational placard in my window last week. There's a meeting on August 16 at LES from 6-7 that I'm going to attend.

Keep us up to date with any potential Lincoln incentive.

My Tesla website screen changed, I entered some simple data, and it changed more. I called to see about changing the way I had said I would finance it, and a VIN has been issued for my Model 3! I believe it exists. A delivery specialist will contact me in the next two weeks (when I can make the change about financing). I am feeling like I have a chance at the rebates with how all of this is unfolding.

Pick up my EV on Friday (M3). Charger currently in shipment. I'll be working to get the car registered, the paper work uploaded. I think I will make it.

Also, I will probably get a second charger for my first EV (Model S). I will be making my own pigtails for the hardwired version of the charger so I can plug into NEMA 14-50s. Let me know if you want details.
