I still cannot believe that 300 EV's in OPPD service area, number. A couple weeks ago, I found myself at an intersection at 132nd and West Dodge. There were 2 Model S's and myself, all staring at one another. So, I guess you could say we were the "1%". :) Both the S owners were checking me out closely. I've only seen two other 3's headed in my opposite direction, and they didn't notice me.

I work hard to not just say something, but have back up for it, usually facts:

"Only about 600 EVs are currently registered in Nebraska. Half of those are within OPPD’s service territory." From:
Electric Vehicles | Nebraskans for Solar maybe three articles down the page.
And that says half in OPPD district, which is larger than Douglas county.
All in the pursuit and hope that I can get the $4500 rebate in a few months when my 3 comes in.

@WhenNRome Thanks for the charging chart! I'm confused what you mean by daisy chain them. The cars? Or the chargers? I didn't think the cars were possible - so I'm assuming you are meaning the wall chargers.

Also, did you have any issues with the home delivery - meaning issues with the car you noticed at delivery. That's my biggest concern about not picking it up at a delivery location is what if something isn't right with the car? Was that discussed with you prior?

Finally, I agree with @MSEV that the rebates will take a little bit. I'd say it was a good sign that none of the 50 were used last month. I spoke to someone at OPPD and they believe that it will ramp up over the next few months. I don't believe they are thinking they will last though through the end of the year. I guess we'll see. I did hear though that they are only going to be updating that webpage on a monthly basis until they feel it's "necessary" to update it more frequently - e.g. if they end up going through more credits quickly they'll update it sooner. Otherwise, it looks like around August 4th will be our next update there. Fingers crossed everyone here can get a credit for their Model 3 this fall! :)

I think he was implying he was shocked by that fact, not that he didn't believe what you had to say.

@WhenNRome I didn't realize you could daisy chain them. Is that only for the wall connector or for the mobile connector as well? (I'm assuming wall connector only since hardwiring it may the only way to achieve that) Regardless, that was smart getting an 80 amp circuit then.

@WhenNRome Thanks for the charging chart! I'm confused what you mean by daisy chain them. The cars? Or the chargers? I didn't think the cars were possible - so I'm assuming you are meaning the wall chargers.

You can daisy-chain up to 4 Wall Connectors to share - with the aid of a distribution box - a single connection from your circuit breaker. Obviously, each Wall Charger you add gives you the ability to charge another vehicle. You cannot daisy-chain with a mobile connector because it's not hard-wired to a power source.

I actually thought about having my electrician run a 100A connection, but since I do not currently have plans to purchase another Tesla, I decided against it. Here's the Wall Connector manual for anyone curious about install specifics.

@WhenNRome Also, did you have any issues with the home delivery - meaning issues with the car you noticed at delivery. That's my biggest concern about not picking it up at a delivery location is what if something isn't right with the car? Was that discussed with you prior?

I did not have any issues with my car when it arrived, and I definitely discussed the possibility of issues with my Delivery Specialist. If there were any issues, I could have either refused delivery or scheduled a service call - depending on the type/severity of the issue. In the end, it was a great experience.

That's like a unicorn sighting around these parts!

I've actually been spotting lots of Model 3's around Omaha lately. They seem especially popular along Industrial road and West Center. I've seen red several times, both 19" and Aero wheels. I've also spotted a MSM and a blue one. Last Saturday I pulled out of my driveway and there was a red Model 3 with 19" wheels parked in my neighbors driveway. (My config!) Later found out it was her daughter's car.

Today I'm using my waiting time to prep the garage. I decided to paint a portion of the wall Tesla red and add a vinyl Tesla logo.

I still haven't seen one. I am convinced the first one I will see will be my own, in a few months when it arrives!

I had my very first Model 3 sighting this morning as I was heading out of town to pick up my own. Delivery went great, haven’t found any issues or anything so far and driving home was a blast.

We ate at Leed’s diner a few blocks away from the delivery center after picking it up, which I would recommend. Then we did a quick test charge at the council bluffs supercharger on the way back into town.

Black, with EAP.
It kicked in after about 40 miles or so.
TACC takes very little getting used to and I loved that immediately. Full EAP makes me a little uneasy so far when passing trucks and such because it really wants to be in the middle of the lane instead of getting over slightly like I normally would myself. I also don’t really get people complaining about nag frequency so far, as it doesn’t nag at all if you’re just putting a little pressure on the wheel as it turns. I was expecting to have to fight it or waggle it more based on people’s complaints.

I too dislike how it stays in the center of the lane even when passing huge trucks. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to program it to "lean" towards the opposite side of the lane, at least when the lane on the other side of you is unoccupied or if it is a shoulder or whatever.

There was an update about a month ago that had excessive nagging, like every 15 seconds or so. It was really annoying and it nearly made AP unusable. The most recent update isn't as bad.

Congratulations on your new car! Post a pic when you can! Don't be surprised if soon, when attempting to drive someone else's car, you turn on their windshield wipers while trying to put it into drive, LoL... I may or may not be speaking from recent experience. :p

I have EAP as well, and I agree with you both about feeling a bit uneasy from time to time due to the car insisting on driving down the center of the lane. What I think we really need is the ability to "adjust the gap" between our car and the edges of the lane. For example, when there are cones on the road like the picture below, I might want a 1/4 gap on my left and 3/4 gap on my right. I think this could be implemented fairly easily, and it could function similarly to how we adjust TACC follow distance currently.

I'm definitely in the camp of those who (still) hate the EAP nag frequency. Over the weekend I took a little road trip from GI > Norfork > Lincoln > GI. I probably touched the wheel a minute or two in total on each of those 100+ mile stretches. Most of that was due to the EAP nag. It seemed to prompt every 90 seconds or so. Despite that, I still highly recommend EAP. :)

Still sadly haven't seen a Model 3 in the wild. I guess I don't drive in the parts of town that people drive them or own them in, or at the time of day they do. I'm self-employed so my schedule is a little weird sometimes.
FINALLY saw my first Model 3 in the wild...well, at least parked in the wild. It was a beautiful red one parked at Innovation Campus in Lincoln. I may have parked right next to it and took a picture or two. :)

Update since 30 Jun... I am loving my Model S. I don't think I could go back to a standard vehicle after this. I had an electrician install a 220v outlet in the garage and it has totally changed my charging game. No more 3 MPH charge.

I'm about to take my first road trip to Ohio this weekend, I feel like auto pilot is going to be a game changer. Even though charging adds a bit of time to the overall journey.

OPPD posted something about the rebates on their Facebook page. I strongly recommend staying out of the comments if you have blood pressure issues!

Isaac, who did you have install the outlet in the garage? I want to get another quote.
