Need more range? Slap a generator to the back of your VOLT?

Hi Guys,

My friend snapped this picture near Ottawa - yes that Volt has a gas generator attached to it...

Just curious - I'm not extremely technical... but does this make any sense to you guys?

Only if there is a problem with the onboard ICE, and he needs to get somewhere....... or... maybe he's just a redneck:tongue:

edit: The cables are going to the interior of the car, not the charge port or engine bay.... What the heck!
