NEMA 14-50 Out of stock?

I could not be angrier reading these posts. I ordered my 14-50 June 1, received a tracking number that to this day still says it shipped but only a shipping label printed according to Fed Ex. I have emailed them 3 times with no answer and I don't have the adapter nor hours to spend on the phone tracking it down. The delivery center is about an hour away from me. Why are other people receiving them via Fed Ex and mine hasn't shipped?

I ordered one on the day we took delivery on our car. I was expecting to buy one onsite, since the delivery specialist said they had plenty in stock and not to worry. I placed that order on May 31st and it hasn't come yet and nobody as tesla is returning my emails. Looking at the forum, it looks inconsistent on who is getting theirs delivered, so I ordered another one. We'll see what happens.

I ordered a 14-50 wall connector on the same day I ordered our LR AWD M3. The shop website took several tries before I could secure a PO#. It took most of the afternoon. 2 1/2 weeks later still nothing and no way to use the# to check on the status of my order! The electrical is done and we have received our georgeous M3. We love it! All we need is our connector. How many of you have had a similar experience? Any ideas? Thanks for your help y'all.

How far away are you to the delivery center? Stop by and ask for one. Likely they will have some. Mine didn’t come with car and my delivery advisor said “oh I got a few to give out”.

When I was trying to return my HPWC and no one was responding to my emails, I went to a service center and they responded to my emails and cc’ed me. I quickly got a response back from the Tesla store along with a shipping label. Might be an option for you if you’re close to a service center.

Ok, I've learned the difference between the 14-50 & the HPWC. The latter is what I ordered. I'm shooting them an email ASAP per your suggestion and I'll see what happens. Better than beating my head against the wall like I've been doing. Thanks a ton for the heads up. I'll let you know how it goes and
DAMN I love my M3!!!

Gosh, very sorry for the stress of not being able to charge yall's most incredible mass market EV on the planet with a 14-50. Here’s my $.02.....

I wonder if some might consider:
a) switching to a 6-50 which has the ability to charge at the same rate and will most likely become the default 240v adapter in due time since their is no EV in North America that requires a neutral for 240v charging. The 14-50 is a carryover from the days when us 2013 and earlierer's required a campground 14-50 for road tripping before the amazing supercharger network locations became plentiful
b) purchasing a Tesla 14-30 MC adapter, remove the neutral prong (which is a dummy/dead/extraneous prong) and charge on one’s 14-50 that will automatically self limit to pull 24A with no manual intervention for a ~22mph charge rate
c) going with a 240v 30a circuit, NEMA 14-30 receptacle, and matching Tesla adapter
d) going with a 240v 20a circuit, NEMA 6-20 receptacle, and matching Tesla adapter for a ~15mph charge rate

btw,
my Jan '13 S utilized a 14-30 for nearly 80,000 miles with mostly 80-mile RT commutes and some 160 mile commutes as well

I currently charge both the S (still an amazing car to this very day!) and a LR RWD M3 on 6-20s

if my post is completely confusing to someone that isn’t versed on the above electrical “stuff”, doesn’t have access to a service center with an inventory of 14-50 adapters, is seriously freaking out about this shortage, positively has to have a 14-50 to commute to work ASAP, is willing to pay for the cost of the adapter and shipping, let me know and I will send you mine or if you live in central Fl you can pick it up in person

I wonder if @TonyWilliams over at quickchargepower.com has some available. His company also has some very slick mil-spec crimped high quality charging accessories

Good luck!

Update - The second charging adapter I ordered was delivered to my home today after just a few business days. The first one I ordered 3.5 weeks ago is still pending.

As my delivery gets closer I realized that I should probably start ordering one these. How long does it take for them to re-stock?

I bought one the moment I heard new orders post mid-April no longer get one... I ordered it the day after I placed the order for the M3 itself (May 10th). I got an email June 7th that the NEMA 14-50 was finally shipped. The email did not have a tracking number. After 2 emails over 9 business days, no reply from OnlineOrders. On the 10th day, Tesla emailed me back and acknowledged the adapter was lost in transit and would send me a new (second) one, and if I get the first one I am expected to ship it back to Tesla (free shipping)...

In short, it took me almost 6 weeks to get one.... and the SLA with the Online Order team is not 2 business days, but closer to 5-7, or in my case, 10....

I know a lot of US customers got theirs in a few days after ordering.. It took me about 6 weeks...

I hope that helps :)

I got my M3 on 6/1 and was told at that time the 14-50 was not included. I then ordered the adapter (after fighting the out of stock messages) on 6/11 and the credit card was billed on 6/12! (Got their money fast!) So other than the message with the order number, I have got NOTHING.

Sent several messages to the online order address, but got no reply except that "we will get back to you..." message.

Sorry to say this in my first post, but if this is the Customer Service I can expect, I have some cages to rattle.
