Rear Clearance Problem

Heh, last time I looked there was no PSS in 285/35/20 , so had to put conti's on mine (I specifically asked for PSS but was told they were not available in that size).

Already posted in other thread but here goes:
This is my 20" set Vossen CV4 front 20x9.0 ET35 with 245/40/20, rear 20x10.5 ET42 with 285/35/20 , wheels are 72.5 bore so have to use a 64.1 hub centering ring.
Car also has the adjustable lowering links from iamsohai (no very aggressive setting yet, just half an inch I guess), picture taken in low mode.

Hi, did you have any problem with the rear wheels clearance? I am trying to fit a 20x10.5 ET40 in the rear of my Tesla Model S 85 and it is hitting the rear fenders even with a 5mm spacers :(...really frustrated!!!

They fit, but the service center did see some minor rubbing on the suspension (on the air shocks iirc), mine are ET42 with 5mm spacer so ET nets at 37.
From the pictures it looks like your rim rubs on the inside? Do you have air or spring shocks?
Maybe try some wider spacers like 10mm or 12mm?

Did you have to bent the inner fenders?

I have Vossen VFS1, I posted this in another thread.

  • Front rim: 20x9 (+35 offset), tire: 255/40/20 Michelin PSS
  • Rear rim: 20x10.5 (+42 offset), tire: 285/35/20 Michelin PSS
  • You'll need 6mm spacers on the rear wheels.

The rear inner well plastic covers can flap in & out as much as 1". I had the wheel installer to zip tie them onto the frame or parts behind them.

Looking at your pictures, I have the impression that you are asessing the fitment with a bare rim and the car jacked up. In that position the rim moves towards the center of the car. If you'd mount a tire and lower the car to it's driving height, the rims move outward significantly.
Probably your setup works with the 5mm spacers.
(I have 10" rims in the rear of my P85+: 10Jx20 ET35 and 285/35-20 tires, without need for spacers.)
