Do you think I should wait till March 1st to buy a used one or new?
If you are not in need of it, wait till March/April as HW4 with up to 12 cameras is going to be key in delivering next iterations of improvements in FSD journey. if you are in hurry, than negotiate Model S 2021/2022s in range of close to wholesale price, there has been bunch of 2022 S with FSD in recent weeks sold in wholesale for $65k-$70k range, and retail in $75k-$80k range, and now new 2023 S (without FSD) are being made available for as low as $81.5K directly from tesla.

Hi

Where are you seeing$65k to $75k whole sale?

I found one at$76k 2022 S no fsd

Love to know where you seeing this

I am ready to replace my 2019 S (Raven) LR with a 2023 MSLR and have also been watching these 2023 "demos" showing up with very tempting pricing. I was going to order in AprilMay. If I do not ever plan to buy or subscribe to FSD, will I even miss HW4.0?
I anticipate keeping it for 18-24 months and replace again with another MSLR or MSP (At next refresh of battery - still anticipating Tesla to replace the 18650 based pack with 4680)
All of your expertise is appreciated. thanks in advance

There is one listed on the forum here in Chicago area with FSD for $78K, that I'm sure you can negotiate further given it was used for Turo operations, there are 3 that came on cargurus between CA, TX, and PA that were between $74K-$79K with FSD. Saw couple of non FSD listed earlier in the month for $70K and $71K. Looked up the wholesaler prices (Manheim), , and 2022 are now as low as $65K without FSD, and $70K w/FSD.

When Tesla is planning to rollout new configurations, they often sell out all their existing demo stock. This earn them income, plus allows them to restock with the latest offerings. Good deals often get snapped up within minutes of them going on line. Delivery specialist will often make phone calls to customers waiting for delivery, to see if they would like to take a demo with a price reduction. Demo pricing varies due to condition, mileage, supply/demand, and whatever their in house algorithms project.

So is the "demo" label another sneaky way tesla adds discounts to brand new cars without actually discounting the new cars?

I have been watching the demo's and there's wave after wave of them popping up. I find it hard to believe they were really all demo vehicles used for test drive, etc, especially since many "have less than 50 miles," which is what a new car has.

Yes, that is their sneaky way of liquidating the existing inventory
