I've had my used Model S for 4 months now so I'm still a bit hyper aware of anything that may need to be checked out while I still have warranty (+extended service agreement), so I apologize if this is a dumb question.
I recently had my drive unit replaced because it was making the milling sound and then more recently they tuned my brake pedal a bit because it was making crunchy/squeaky sounds.
As of the last two weeks, however, I notice when I punch the accelerator the rear drive unit makes a new noise...a really high pitched one. Not like a normal electric motor whine, I'm used to hearing that, but this is more like the sound of a dog whistle, a tea-kettle, or air escaping out of a balloon. It's a very high pitch and sounds...wrong. It disappears the second I let off on the accelerator though.
Performance wise my car has seemed a bit sluggish the past few weeks as well, mostly when trying to accelerate quickly. Just feels like I have less power available, and when I try to push it, that's when the sound comes up. My energy usage has also been way up despite the fact that my driving hasn't changed (I used to average 290-320 wh/mi driving around town and now I cannot get below 360 no matter what I do).
I hate to be the guy who keeps taking my car into the SC for "noises" but is this a thing anyone has experienced? Would really appreciate any insight or help.
