New Alexandria, LA Supercharger Station

Just found out that a new Tesla Supercharger station is being setup in Alexandria, LA (central Louisiana). Considering it's my hometown, I am pretty excited I'm surprised it'll be at a hotel though, has Tesla setup any other superchargers (not destination chargers) at hotel locations before?

Yeah, I posted about it a few hours ago in the southeast area. The one in Victoria Texas is at a La Quinta.

Yes, many are. They're a good source of parking lots. Don't stay at the supercharger overnight though, charge your car and move it to a regular space.

No biggie. Rather odd that it doesn't show up via search, just tried and it only found this topic...

Aha - the search defaults to "this forum only". Once I unchecked it the results also showed my topic in the Southeast forum. I put it there because I'm used to seeing separate topics for each of the Supercharger locations in Texas (like the Victoria one I linked to above) the Texas forum.

Yes, oddly enough a lot of them are. As @TexasEV mentioned, hotels usually have big parking lots. Most of the ones near me are in hotel parking lots: The Dalles and Baker City Oregon are. Pendleton Oregon is borderline. It’s a hotel/resort/casino. Boise Idaho is. Tremonton and Tooele Utah are. There are several others I’ve heard about at hotels, too.

So does Tesla still own the superchargers and are just leasing/purchasing the space, or does the hotel own them and just have some kind of agreement with Tesla?

It's no different than superchargers anywhere. Tesla leases the parking spaces, usually for a nominal amount.

Tesla owns the equipment, like the cabinets and pedestals, but they are paying a use fee for the land and parking spaces that it is using.

During the last week I was at a number of Superchargers in Colorado and Kansas. A frequent user with h me was a couple from Alexandria who had just bought an S60 in Seattle and were driving home. I failed to get their names, sadly. They were preoccupied with the lack of Supercharging near Alexandria, and I assured them one was planned sometime during the next year. I had no idea it had already happened. I should have checked. Anyway this one is very good news for me. When I was last there I used a local welding shop and a fish camp, but that was more than two years ago.
