New axles - $1800 or $400?

Hello,

I need new axles for my S, but I want to keep the cost as low as possible. Should I pay $400 for revision A parts or $1800 for revision C?

I do understand that revision C probably has improved some weaknesses of revision A, but the price gap is pretty significant.

Thanks for any inputs!

I gave up correcting “axles” to “halfshafts”. Tesla’s don’t have axles anyway... most AWD cars have both, so the confusion can get bad.

Official name for the part between the drive unit and wheel is “halfshaft”.

Why do you need to replace them? Do you have the acceleration shudder? If so, you NEED revision C if you want it fixed for good. Also the used ones are probably used BECAUSE they had the bent cv splines that results in shuddering.
