FYI that if "new" Model S cars the delivery will be delayed due to the need to get Transport Department approval over a new braking system. I'm a victim of this delay on an inventory car I ordered in December.
In general, and new model (including significant changes to existing models, such as a new braking system) will require type approval. That is an approximately 2 month process.
If that's really the rate TD approves cars at then HK will always be behind the global release schedule even when it comes to moderate changes in existing models.
I'm having the same issue.
Ordered a car in December, car arrived HK last week but Tesla is unable to register the car.
Does anyone know when it will be approved? I already sold my old car an was hoping to get the new one this week :/

What is the specification of the car you ordered? The 100, 90 and 75 kWh versions of Model X have been approved (from what I see in recent deliveries). 60 kWh approval still in progress.

After chasing my delivery specialist with no success for a estimate of delivery.. I decided to go to tesla store in wanchai to check directly with staff there.
They mentionned they expect the approval within 1 to 2 weeks... Finger crossed this will actually be the case.

It shouldn't be an issue as governement will waive frt for all cars ordered before 22nd of Feb.
It's the first thing I checked this morning when I saw the news
It concerns new model S, except performance edition. The parking brakes and the rear brakes were separate originally. Now, the parking brakes are merged with the rear brakes. I believe it is for cost-saving.
