New cars coming with 2019.35.108 V10.1 ?

My new LR AWD was just delivered with software version 2019.35.108 V10.1. Reading through posts here, it appears there have been software versions: 2019.36, 2019.40, and 2020.4 subsequent to this and I can't find any references to this particular version in other posts. Does anyone know how this version relates to the other versions and why Tesla isn't delivering with a more modern feature set?

MCUs are loaded with the ‘current’ release when created. Does seem weird but who knows about that actual release.. A certain batch may have been made when that was the newest thing for a short period of time. As soon as your car is loaded on the update list (usually a few days after delivery) it will get the now-current firmware.

It also used to be that at delivery they staged the current software on the spot but that was when they had tons of time to do all that. With the recent overloads they batch the update list ‘update’ and so it takes several days for the mothership to get around to knowing about you.

Look at the door jamb for your build date. Your software is likely the one that was current in that month (the 35th week in 2019 is end of August/September which means yours was probably built in September/October?). You'll get the 2020.4 soon. It doesn't take too long.

Door jamb says 2/20, so that doesn't seem to be the explanation. It would have been weird to wait around for 6 weeks for the car if it had been manufactured 6 months ago, but no, it's current. Unfortunately, it's not always parked with a WiFi signal, so we'll see how soon it can get an update.

As long as you have a cellular connection the car will notify you when an update is available. At that point you will need to be on wifi to download it. You can try setting software update to advanced as well.

This. They most likely have stacks of MCUs in stock that have been loaded with whatever version of software was current at the time the MCU was made. Then some months go by and those MCUs find their way into a car on the line and get delivered. The car will update to the latest software within a few weeks after delivery.

Usually around 3 day after connecting to WiFi.

Make sure that “Keep Climate On” and “Dog Mode” is turned off for now until you get the latest firmware.

Has anyone getting a new car recently with software 2019.35.108 actually received a software update subsequently? How long did it take?

I picked up a LR M3 on Saturday, 2/28/20. It came with 2019.35.108. It has been on my WiFi each evening since then and I don't have the update yet. I'll post here if I get it. H

I picked mine up 2/29, still waiting. I made a service appointment for software upgrade, hoping they call me and can push it to me if I don't get it prior.

Same boat at others. Picked up on 2/25 and also still on 35.108. Car is connected to Wifi every night and I have been using a hotspot while I drive. Reading previous comments it seems it will take another week. Also premium connectivity took about a day to activate as well. I guess after waiting for delivery we've all become too impatient.

My HW3 upgrade Monday had this version when it came online, they upgraded prior to pickup. Guessing this is how HW3 computers come from manufacturing.
