Every new EV startup has to overcome the following...

battery supply
factory
funding
charging infrastructure
Tesla's head start and growing CPO fleet

The last point is most critical. By the time Byton actually becomes available, no matter how great it is and reasonable the cost, it'll be competing against an updated Model X, some very nicely equipped 3-year old AP2 Model X's, and impending brand new Model Y. Sure there will be super rich EV enthusiasts who want to try something "new" and perhaps more "luxurious", but for the average internet savvy, price conscious consumer, Tesla will still make the most sense.

i think the main game changers will have to be not only charging infastructure but really quicker charging times. Range anxiety will not exist then and the 75d for instance will be the way to go. As it is commute here is 100 miles max a day if even 1/2 that for us so 80% 75d is plenty and fill up at home at night. On the road its still not a worry for traveling as the SC network is decent but if an ev could recharge way faster like in 15 minutes to full that would be something.
