Every new EV startup has to overcome the following...
battery supply
factory
funding
charging infrastructure
Tesla's head start and growing CPO fleet
The last point is most critical. By the time Byton actually becomes available, no matter how great it is and reasonable the cost, it'll be competing against an updated Model X, some very nicely equipped 3-year old AP2 Model X's, and impending brand new Model Y. Sure there will be super rich EV enthusiasts who want to try something "new" and perhaps more "luxurious", but for the average internet savvy, price conscious consumer, Tesla will still make the most sense.
