New charging protocol for 2021 TM3 SR+?

My sister picked up her new ride on the 29th & the SC adviser recommended she discharge her battery to ~10% &

then charge to 90% once a month! This was never advised for our TM3+ back in 2018.

What would be the reason for the change? SC adviser said 'different' BMS. Who can explain or advise us 'older' owners, please? Thanks,

To clarify: Is the battery of a 2021 TM3 SR+ a 'different' battery type than the long range battery of 2018? Or is the battery 'different' than the LR battery of 2021 & therefore need a change in battery management? Thanks

Honestly I’d believe it’s just another case of the adviser not knowing what they are talking about.

Seems to be the case; just seems a bit odd that the SA was 'winging it' on what was a late Dec '20 delivery even when the SC was delivering ~ 40 vehicles per day!

If you want to have accurate charge capacity display, then occasionally showing the battery management system a nearly-empty battery will help it calibrate itself. But you certainly do not need to do this once a month!

I picked up my 2021 SR+ on Dec. 22nd and received absolutely no guidance on charging at all.
